Meet the team
Suffolk Street Surgery has been established for over 30 years. Dr Orla Coughlan was joined by Dr John Flanagan, and both became practice partners in 2023. The team consists of doctors, nursing, phlebotomy and administrative colleagues.
Dr Orla Coughlan
Dr Orla Coughlan has been working as a GP in Suffolk Street Surgery since 2012. She graduated from medicine in Trinity College in 2002 and went on to complete her vocational training scheme in RCSI. She has a special interest in women’s health: contraception, fertility, sexual health and menopause. She has recently been awarded a postgraduate Professional Certificate in Dermatology and is skilled in the management of benign and malignant skin disorders. She enjoys managing musculoskeletal disorders, as well as obesity and chronic disease.
Dr Orla Coughlan is a big believer in healthy living to include lots of physical activity. When she’s not running after her beloved dog and 3 children she enjoys swimming, cycling and playing golf.
Dr John Flanagan
Dr John Flanagan joined as practice partner in 2023. Born in Dublin, he studied medicine in Trinity College Dublin, graduating with honours in 2016. John has a keen interest in rock climbing, cooking with his husband and playing the piano. He has worked in a number of hospital specialities including Beaumont Hospital Dermatology Dept, St James’ Hospital Emergency Dept, Temple Street Children’s Emergency Dept, National Maternity Hospital Holles Street, Tallaght Hospital Psychiatry Dept, Beaumont Hospital Respiratory Dept and Blanchardstown Hospital Orthopaedics Dept.
Dr Flanagan has special interests in Dermatology and Occupational Medicine. He completed vocational training in 2024 with RCSI GP Scheme.
He is 2025/ 2026 course director of the ICGP Dermatology in Practice Certificate
Dr Christine Campbell
Dr Christine Campbell is a GP associate at Suffolk Street Surgery since 2023. She completed her General Practice training in Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and the Yukon. Her experience includes work in rural and urban practices, sexual health clinics, palliative care, refugee medicine and hospital based internal medicine.
After graduation, Dr Christine worked in rural Malawi for nearly six months. She completed her Professional Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygeine (DTM&H) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Christine enjoys work in the heart of Dublin city in a clinic that promotes acceptance and celebrates diversity and inclusion.
Dr Stephanie Doyle
Dr. Stephanie joined Suffolk St Surgery in 2025. She completed a Psychology degree at UCD before graduating from Medicine at RCSI in 2016. She then worked in various Dublin hospitals and spent two years in Perth, Australia, gaining broad experience in hospital medicine before returning to Ireland to complete her GP vocational training with RCSI in 2024.
Stephanie is passionate about reducing barriers to healthcare and supporting vulnerable and marginalised groups. Alongside her work as a GP, she also works as a doctor with Spirasi, the National Centre for Survivors of Torture. Her clinical interests include dermatology and women’s health.
In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys keeping fit with running and pilates and is a food enthusiast!
Dr Helen Wyatt
Dr. Helen Wyatt is a qualified General Practitioner (GP) with extensive experience in family medicine and a specialist interest in Lifestyle Medicine and Gut Health. Her clinical training and years of practice have shown her the power of lifestyle interventions in preventing, treating, and even reversing many chronic health conditions. She combines evidence-based medical practice with a personalized approach, helping patients take control of their health through improvements in nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and social connection. Her goal is to empower patients to make sustainable changes that enhance both short-term well-being and long-term health.
She has particular interests in:
- Personalised lifestyle consultations for weight management, diabetes prevention, and cardiovascular health
- Support for stress reduction, improved sleep, and mental well-being
- Digestive health optimisation
- Women’s health services including PCOS, and menopause support
Dr Niamh Lacey
Dr Niamh Lacey first started working in Suffolk St Surgery in 2008 and has recently returned to work here part-time. She graduated from medicine in UCD in 2001. She completed the medical SHO scheme in Ireland in 2004 before spending periods working in Paediatrics in Tallaght Hospital, Emergency medicine in Australia and General Practice in Manchester in the UK. She has completed the Diploma in Tropical medicine in the RCSI and has extra qualifications in Medicine and Paediatrics along with General Practice.
A mum of 2, Niamh’s clinical interests include Paediatrics, Women’s Health and Travel Medicine.
Nurse Yvonne Flanagan
Nurse Yvonne has been a friendly face at Suffolk Street Surgery since 2010. She looks after cervical smears, phlebotomy, wounds, ear syringing, cryotherapy, baby vaccinations and a range of other services. She trained at St Vincent’s University Hospital and also holds a postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health and Safety. In addition, Yvonne has experience and a special interest in dermatology. She plays lots of tennis and too much bridge!
Paul Carreon, Health Care Assistant
Paul joined Suffolk Street Surgery in 2023 as our phlebotomist. He studied nursing in Vienna, Austria in 2010 followed by a number of positions in geriatric health care in both Austria and Ireland. His deep care for patients puts them at ease which has earned him high levels of trust.
