Why have a lifestyle medicine assessment?

A lifestyle medicine assessment is your first step toward taking control of your health with an expert GP-led, evidence-based approach. We focus on identifying the root causes of disease and building lasting health.

It will help you to:

Prevent illness: Learn how to proactively protect your health.

Manage or potentially reverse chronic conditions: utilise powerful lifestyle interventions, guided by your GP, for conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular issues, and weight management.

Optimise wellbeing: address key areas such as nutrition, physical activity, sleep, and stress to enhance your short-term wellbeing and long-term health.

Gain a personalised plan: receive a tailored plan designed specifically for your unique health journey, lifestyle, and goals.

Who is it for?

Lifestyle Medicine is for anyone looking to make sustainable, evidence-based changes to improve their health.

It is particularly beneficial for those seeking:

  • Personalised support for managing or preventing common chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and pre-diabetes.
  • Guidance on specific health goals, including weight management, improved sleep, stress reduction, and mental wellbeing.
  • Optimisation of specific health areas like digestive health.
  • Support for women’s health concerns such as PCOS and menopause.
  • A patient-centred approach that empowers you to take control of your health under the guidance of a qualified GP with a specialist interest in Lifestyle Medicine.

What happens after the assessment?

Following your initial assessment, you will have a clear, personalised plan developed by Dr. Helen Wyatt that combines evidence-based medical practice with lifestyle interventions tailored to your needs.

After the assessment, you can expect:

  • A Tailored Lifestyle Plan: A specific, actionable plan addressing areas like nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and social connection.
  • Empowerment: The tools and knowledge to make sustainable changes and take control of your health.
  • Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-up (where needed): For long-term outcome management, we provide support and follow-up to ensure your continued progress toward your health goals.
  • GP-led Guidance: You will continue to receive support from a qualified General Practitioner, ensuring your lifestyle plan is integrated with best medical practice.
