Cryotherapy
Cryotherapy involves the use of extreme cold (in this case, liquid nitrogen cryotherapy) to treat skin conditions like warts and skin tags.
The procedure lasts only a matter of seconds, however, duration time can vary depending on the thickness and size of the lesion being treated. The skin area being treated will become white after the liquid nitrogen is applied and takes a minute or two to return to normal skin temperature. Depending on the nature of the lesion, more than one treatment session may be necessary.
Our doctors will suggest the best method to care for the treated area in the days following cryotherapy treatment until the area fully heals.
Suffolk Street Surgery holds cryotherapy clinics every four weeks. Please contact the surgery to check when the next clinic will be. Your private health insurer may cover you for some of this treatment.
